Opening up careers: At this year's Apprenticeship Day at PALFINGER, around 240 potential applicants were able to experience 17 different technical and commercial jobs at PALFINGER and try out a wide variety of activities hands-on.

Bergheim, Austria on December 19, 2022

Diversity, the future, and continuous development opportunities are the core of apprentice training at PALFINGER, the world market leader. At Apprenticeship Day on Saturday, December 17, 2022, the international technology company showed how this is put into practice at the PALFINGER Campus in Lengau (Upper Austria).

Experiencing 17 different careers hands-on
From automotive engineering and welding technology to event organization - PALFINGER presented a total of 17 different technical and commercial job profiles to the young professionals of tomorrow. The focus was on practical insights in particular: In addition to information on the various apprenticeships and the opportunity to exchange ideas with PALFINGER managers, the prospective applicants were able to try out a wide range of activities themselves at 17 workstations, including virtual welding and operating a crane. The fact that an apprenticeship at PALFINGER offers variety is shown by the wide choice of courses as well as apprenticeships in combination with a high school diploma, which is currently taken up by a third of all apprentices. The classroom sessions are held every Saturday morning directly on site in Lengau.

PALFUTURE - Apprenticeships with a future
“Every investment in our apprentices is an investment in our future - which is why we are once again creating around 50 vacancies for apprentices in autumn 2023 as part of our apprenticeship program,” says Bernhard Eicher, Head of European Apprentice Development & Training. “The PALFINGER apprenticeship tagline is 'Start your PALFUTURE with us'. In addition to professional skills, the personal development of our young employees is also important to us. On top of our internal training courses such as workshops and seminars, there are also opportunities for cross-divisional assignments at our sites all over the world.” Numerous benefits such as bonuses for above-average performance, a trip to Italy in the course of the completion of the apprenticeship, and the opportunity to represent the company in international competitions, add to the attraction of a PALFUTURE apprenticeship. Young professionals therefore benefit from an all-round practical and varied training program. The success of this approach is reflected in the figures: Around 90 percent of PALFINGER apprentices remain loyal to the company after completing their training.
