Driven by increasing global demand for lifting and handling equipment – as well as lifesaving appliances – PALFINGER MARINE is looking ahead to a promising future. To ensure long-term growth and reliability, the company is expanding its service and storage capacities in Norway. The new facility – comprising 343.5 m² of warehouse and 439 m² of workshop space – is a significant step forward in building the infrastructure needed for modern and efficient operations. In Årsnes, PALFINGER MARINE will focus on the refurbishment, upgrading and repair of lifeboats, davits, and winches. By consolidating key capabilities at its new location in Årsnes and moving operations from Ølve, the company will streamline internal processes, enhance logistics, and respond more flexibly to customer needs. The dedicated workshop also provides an ideal environment for testing as well as future developments of lifesaving appliances, and new business initiatives.

“With this new facility, we’re setting the course for the future,” says Klaus Schreiber, VP Sales & Service at PALFINGER MARINE. He adds: “It’s not just about creating space – it’s about creating the conditions for innovation, growth, and long-term success.” Administration and offices will remain at the current Seimsfoss premises.

A Site That Connects
Strategically located near the waterfront and key transport routes, Årsnes offers immediate access to essential subcontractors, crane availability and direct quayside access. These advantages create optimal conditions for efficient and high-quality refurbishment projects. The features are particularly valuable for supporting product- and service-related activities and provide a flexible foundation for a broad range of future projects.

Embedded within an established industrial network, the new location also opens up valuable opportunities for collaboration with local businesses, suppliers, and technical partners. In addition, the proximity to a skilled labor market strengthens recruitment potential and enables PALFINGER MARINE to build lasting capacity with local expertise.

Long-Term Commitment to the Region
“This investment reflects our strong commitment to both our team and the local community,” says Klaus Schreiber. “The new facility provides a modern, future-ready work environment that fosters innovation and strengthens our position as an attractive employer and partner in the region.”

Beyond its operational benefits, the new site is also a signal of PALFINGER MARINE’s confidence in the long-term potential of the Kvinnherad region. By investing in infrastructure as well as people, building strong local partnerships, and contributing to regional value creation, the company aims to play an active role in shaping the future of the local industry.
